The break-in happened just after 1 a.m. Thursday at Maineville Tobacco and Vape , located at 5765 South State Route 48. Advertisement Hamilton Township police said the driver backed into the entrance, got out of the vehicle and entered the shop before taking merchandise. Officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle leaving the scene and apprehended him. Police identified the suspect as Isaac Corcoran, 24. He faces charges of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony; vandalism, a fourth-degree felony; and theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. According to a dispatch log released by the department, a caller reported seeing a man get out of his vehicle, take items and leave. An entry at approximately 1:19 a.m. indicated officers had detained suspects. Police have identified only Corcoran as facing charges. Much of the storefront remained smashed Thursday, but a worker told WLWT no one was hurt in the break-in and the business was able to remain open during the day. Longtime customer Tara Hamlin said she was thinking about the employees who work there. “They are hard workers and good citizens and they didn’t deserve that,” Hamlin said. Hamlin, who has shopped at the store for years, described the employees as friendly and welcoming. “I think it’s awful and it should have never happened,” she said. Police said Corcoran was taken to a hospital for an unrelated medical issue after he was apprehended. The department did not release a damage estimate or specify what merchandise was stolen. Police said Warren County Court will handle the case.
